Dr. Belisa Vranich is a clinical psychologist, author, and presenter. Dr. Vranich has a private practice in New York City where she focuses on short-term dynamic psychotherapy that is highly interactive. Her passion as a clinician manifests itself in comprehensive, holistic diagnosis and treatment that integrates spirituality, physical health and relationships.

Dr. Vranich has written five self-help books. She is currently promoting He’s Got Potential: a field guide to shy guys, bad boys, intellectuals, cheaters and everything in between (Wiley Pubs) and Boys Lie (HCI Pubs), a sexual and emotional wellbeing book for teens. She is also the author of Get a Grip: Your Two Week Mental Makeover (Wiley Pubs), Dating the Older Man (2008, Adams Press) and The Seven Beliefs: A Step by Step Guide to Help Latinas Recognize and Overcome Depression (2003, HarperCollins; 2004 Spanish translation).

Dr. Vranich is a regular guest on the “Today Show,” “Good Morning America,” CNN, and Fox News. She will appear as the Sex Expert in Bravo’s new Fall 2010 show, “Pregnant In Heels.” Dr. Vranich has been interviewed as an expert in hundreds of publications, including the Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, Cosmopolitan, Spin, AARP, Seventeen, Good Housekeeping, and Parenting. She is the former advice columnist for the New York Daily News, Foxnews.com, and Spin magazine.

Dr. Vranich has worked as the sex and health editor for Men’s Fitness Magazine, and Muscle and Fitness Hers Magazine (American Media). She has been a contributor and media expert for Shape Magazine, Women’s Health Magazine (Rodale Press), and the lifestyle editor for Muscle and Fitness Hers. She is a currently a columnist for The Huffington Post, and contributes as an expert to Ser Padres Magazine, a Spanish Language pregnancy and parenting publication of Meredith Press.

Previously, Dr. Vranich was the Director of Public Education at the Mental Health Association of NYC and served as a consultant at the National Mental Health Association in Washington, DC. She has worked as the director of an outpatient clinic at Jacobi Hospital Center, as a school psychologist in the South Bronx, and with parolees and their families as part of the Brooklyn Aids Task Force. Dr. Vranich received her doctorate degree in Psychology from New York University and Bellevue Hospital with specialization in neuropsychology, psychiatric consultation, and liaison and bilingual treatment.

A public speaker in the area of health and mental health, Dr. Vranich has a decade of experience in developing educational campaigns, presenting and lecturing nationwide, including at the US Department of Health and Human Services and SAMHSA’s national clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information, and The New York City Board of Education. She currently serves as an advisor for the Fitness Institute for Gold's Gym International. Dr. Vranich has been recognized for her role in health and fitness within the Hispanic community. She was awarded outstanding Latina in health care by El Diario, La Prensa, and was honored by Hispanic Healthcare Executives.

Dr. Vranich is often employed as a corporate consultant and has worked with such companies as Delmonte Inc., and Procter & Gamble. She has written about consumer trends and recession fear for the Huffington Post, and has appeared on Fox Business News. An outspoken advocate for women's health issues, volunteerism and mentorship, Dr. Vranich volunteers regularly with numerous NYC-based animal rescue organizations, and does regular pro bono work with victims of sexual assault and war veterans organizations nationwide.
