| Dr. Belisa Vranich
Psychologist Relationship Columnist Belisa Vranich, PsyD, is a renowned clinical psychologist, author and public speaker. She is a regular guest on "Good Morning America", CNN "Paula Zahn", and "CNN Anderson Cooper ", and VH1. She is a former columist with the New York Daily News. She hosts a Maxim Radio show from 10-11 am starting March 28th. Dr. Vranich is a columnist for the Huffington Post. She was previously the health and sex editor at Men's Fitness magazine. Dr. Vranich has been widely published in outlets such as Jane, Latina, and America Online. She has also been interviewed as an expert in hundreds of publications, including The Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, Cosmopolitan, Spin, AARP, Seventeen, Good Housekeeping, and Parenting. She has a decade of experience in developing educational campaigns, presenting, and lecturing nationwide, including at The National Mental Health Association, Planned Parenthood, and The NYC Board of Education, and teaching at New York University. She currently serves as an advisor for the Fitness Institute for Gold's Gym. Ten years experience in private practice helped Dr. Vranich become a leading expert in topics from death/bereavement to issues relating to parenting, couples and relationships, trauma and addiction. She also specializes in psychodiagnostic testing and has experience giving IQ tests, neuropsychological tests, and personality assessments. Previously, Dr. Vranich was the Director of Public Education at the Mental Health Association of NYC and a consultant at the National Mental Health Association in Washington, DC. She has worked as the director of an outpatient clinic at Jacobi Hospital Center, as a school psychologist in the South Bronx, and with parolees and their families as part of the Brooklyn Aids Task Force. Dr. Vranich is widely recognized for her role in health, fitness, particularly within the Hispanic community. She was awarded outstanding Latina in health care by El Diario, La Prensa and was honored by Hispanic Healthcare Executives. She is the author of The Seven Beliefs: A step by step guide to help Latinas recognize and over come depression (2002, Harper Collins). Dr. Vranich's second book is Dating the Older Man: Consider Your Differences and Decide if He's Right for You. Dr. Vranich completed her doctorate degree in Psychology from New York University and completed a residency at Bellevue Hospital with specialization in neuropsychology, psychiatric consultation and liaison and bilingual treatment. Dr. Vranich is a corporate consultant and has worked with Delmonte and Barmensen labs. She is an outspoken advocate for women's health issues, volunteerism and mentorship. She also works with several animal rescue organizations in New York. Dr. Vranich currently resides in New York City. |
